Pearl with a purse :) She likes to wear this purse as often as possible. Over Christmas break she would wear it all day and then put in on with her pajamas in the evening. ;)
Back to school after a 2 1/2 week break. Fridays are ice-cream days. I'm so happy that Pearl is really enjoying school now. I think she has finally adjusted to the long days away from home. She loves her teacher and the friends she has made.
Most of January was unusually cold and rainy. So progress on the pool was slow. Coby and Pearl loved digging in the dirt piles though. They "hunted for crystals" out there every evening. KC, the mastermind of our backyard project, also spent a lot of time outside.
The day Coby had been waiting for...shooting the concrete!
He missed preschool this day so he could watch.
Gram, Papa and Beth came to visit! KC and Papa went hunting white tail deer. Their first hunting experience in Texas. Papa shot a good sized deer. Our freezer is now full of deer meat.
While the boys hunted, the rest of us read books, played games, and visited parks. The weather warmed up perfectly for their visit. Hooray!
School lunch with Pearly.
Coby was excited to show Papa the bow he got for Christmas.
Gram worked with Pearl on riding her bike.
Pearly is now a bike rider with no training wheels! She was one proud little girl ;)
Saying goodbye to Liza, Olivia, and Markus. A cute family in our ward moved in January. I will always remember Liza (age 8) as Coby's (age 4) first crush. He loved playing with Liza. He wants to visit her if we ever happen to be in Arizona.
Another temple trip to San Antonio. Pearl and Coby enjoyed having the hotel pool all to themselves. We stopped by the Tower of the Americas on our way home. We had been once before but KC wasn't with us
Beautiful sunset on the way home and singing lullabies to a sleepy brother.
Coby and I babysat my friend Laura's twin boys one afternoon.
They are 6 months old and rolled and rolled :) Easy going, happy little guys.
Pearl's 6 months of ballet ended in January. We committed to 6 months in the beginning. She enjoyed it but not enough to keep going. I couldn't even talk her into going for another 4 months to be in the recital. Ballet is very technical and I think she finds it a little boring. She sure looked cute doing it though.
Coby and I have been having "Coby school" lately, to help prepare him for kindergarten in the fall. I teach him how to write words of his choice, like mom, dad, X-ray, veins, ursula, watermelon, etc ;)
Matching shirts at bedtime. Pearl and Coby got these shirts two years ago from a little fun run they did. They had so much fun together while Pearl was out of school. They played and played with very little fighting. They like to have "sleepovers." They already share a room so a sleepover to them is when they both sleep in Pearl's bed. :) Although I'm sure they won't enjoy sharing a bed for very many more years, I hope they always remain close friends.

YAY! Your pictures finally loaded! I've checked the blog a few times and only a few pictures are shown...I don't know what the problem could be?? Anyhow, Looks like January was eventful! The pool looks AMAZING!! I for SURE will be coming for a visit just to vacation in your pool!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Coby stayed home from school to watch the cement be poured! TOTAL BOY!! LOVE IT!!
Dear meat, huh? Does it taste wild? I remember not being a huge fan. But, that was years ago....I might like it now? I guess save me a piece for my visit and I will test it then! :)
I LOVE Coby's expresso when they are pouring the cement! Classic. I want to move in with you guys. Pool. Yard. The all American dream. Sounds nice.
