July 2013

Happy 4th of July!!  We went to the island July 3rd and stayed the night.
We spent the morning on the beach.  Coby went "surfing" (boogie boarding) for the first time.

In the afternoon we boarded the pirate ship.  Pearl and Coby did this once
before and have been wanting to take KC ever since.  We had planned to stay at the island for fireworks and then drive home late.  After the pirate ship though, everyone was exhausted so we just bought some fireworks on our way home and set them off at the house.

July 6th we boarded a plane to Utah!!  We were all SO excited.
November was the last time we were in Utah.

We started our two week trip Utah vacation with a Mays family reunion at Moon Lake.  It was beautiful and we LOVED the cooler temperatures! Pearl and Coby loved playing with their cousins.

We stayed in cabins and hiked and fished.
They also had a little play area with a sandbox, horse shoes, and a basket ball hoop.

And we had a birthday party, a treasure hunt and piñata included,  for my mom's dog Annie.  :)

Mindy and Shilo both have daughters Coby's age.  The 4 of them are great friends.
We call them the fabulous four.  :)  And below are Lydia and Aubrey, the tiny two.  :)

Next we went to the Leavitt family reunion in Heber.  Sodapop the clown was a hit.

We went to a cute little outdoor theater and watched "The Music Man."  It was impressive!!

Ali, Pearl, Camden, and Emma were inseperable :)

We rode the Heber Creeper.  It was so fun and beautiful views!

And fun with cousins from the Bentley side.  Coby followed Bentley around the entire time :) :)

From Heber we headed up to the Bentley family reunion in Logan.  We stopped in Ogden on our way and showed Pearl and Coby where Mom went to college at Weber State and where we lived when we first got married...Leavitt's Mortuary.

They were impressed with our beautiful yard.

In Logan we had a birthday party for McKay Atwood, turning one here. :)

McKay and Eli, worn out in the park.

We visited the grounds of the Logan Temple.

And went to the little Logan zoo.  The ducks ate right out of Coby's hand!

Playing and roasting hot dogs and smores at 2nd Damn.

KC flew home a few days before we did.  After KC left I met up with my family and we went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.  We were able to be baptized for my grandpa who passed away a year ago, as well as a lot of other family names that I found recently.  We spent all day at the temple, doing work for our ancestors.  It was really special.

 Fun at Grandma's house :)

A birthday party for Lydia Langford, turning 2 :)

On our way to the airport we stopped by the house where Grandma Edna Pearl Gerber lived in Spanish Fork.  Pearl wanted to see where her namesake lived. :)  She was such a wonderful, sweet grandma.  Then we boarded the plane, and sadly left all cousins and family and mountains, and returned to the valley.  Of course it is always nice to be home, but we sure miss our family!!

  3. You're lookin' good Brigette! I laughed at the mortuary. I remember those days. Not that I was there, but I remember chuckling about it. Your kids are adorable. I still think Colby looks like a mini version of your dad.
