January 2015

Starting the new year off right:

We made a new tradition this year (that I copied from a friend).  All year when something funny or interesting happened, we wrote it down on a piece of paper and put it in this dinosaur bank.  On New Year's day, we broke the bank and read the memories.  It was fun to laugh together and remember things that we probably wouldn't have thought of again.

More workouts while the kids were out of school...

When Pearl wasn't working out, she spent every spare moment with her dolls. :)

Back to school.  It was a rough morning dragging the kids out of bed for school, after a 2 1/2 week break. :s   Coby is always joking around and rarely gives me a straight answer to any question...so sometimes we spend his lunch break doing this:

Texting strange pictures back and forth with KC.

Saturday morning ball games.

With breakfast at Denny's in between games.  :)

I love what Pearl put on her door:

Waiting to apply for passports for Cancun this summer!

Our trip to the park turned into a photo shoot, at their request ;)

Bishopric and wives appreciation dinner at El Patio.

More games.  I can't get over how cute they look in their basketball jerseys :)

Beautiful bike-riding weather.  Pearl and Coby have just about mastered their new bikes that they got for Christmas...except Coby can't reach his handle breaks and Pearl can't get on or off of her bike by herself.  :):)

Heading to school, Pearl posing and Coby punching.

Pearl really wants to be a Daisy Girl Scout.  I am looking for a troop for her to join.
In the meantime, she enjoys wearing this purse and hat around the house. :)

Vipers basketball game! (They are a NBA D-league team that play in McAllen.)
We were impressed! It was a great game.

Coby was watching the score intently.  He was thrilled when the Vipers passed 100.

Pearl danced almost the entire game, trying to get on the big screen.

Baking for the grand opening of Sosouf!  Dr. Graham and Let came over for lunch.
We think they liked Sosouf and hope they will be returning costumers. :)

Sunday morning breakfast with Daddy!  This is very rare at our house.
We had a special stake conference with Elder Oaks and Elder Robbins.
KC got to attend a Bishop's training with them that was really neat.

The Nintendo DS.  Friends gave this to Pearl and Coby for Christmas.  I didn't show them how it worked until the last day of Christmas break, fearing that they may be glued to it and not want to do anything else.  Boy was I right!!  This is their first introduction to video games and I'm trying to decide what a good balance is, as far as playing time goes.  Maybe I will get lucky and the game will get lost or broken??

FHE activity.

Pearl started soccer practice at the end of January.  So naturally Coby put on his soccer gear and came along.  We played together while Pearl practiced.  He is such a fun boy.  He liked laying in this soft clover patch.
