November 2014

Taking the field with sunglasses on :)

Pearl's 7th Birthday Party at Pink Station.
Manicures, pedicures, make-up and a fashion show...what could be better?

A cute toothless smile at age 7.  Five teeth missing :)

Pearl asked for only one thing for her birthday:  a hula hoop.

Coby gave her the hula hoop, a kiss, and a hug on her birthday morning.  She was THRILLED.

Pearl's friend Tatiana brought this crown and sash to school for Pearl to wear.

Pearl was so excited to bring cupcakes to school on her birthday.

A pretty red dress came in the mail from Grandma.  Pearl wanted to wear it to dinner on her birthday :)

PLENTY of fun for this girl on her birthday :)
The next day, off to school, business as usual. :) She sure is a sweet girl at age 7.
Favorites at age 7:
Movie: Pocahontas
Song: Colors of the Wind
Best friend:  Kirra Jones
Favorite thing to play:  Dolls
Favorite school subject: math
Favorite place to visit:  Utah

We decorated the house for Christmas just before we left for Thanksgiving in Utah.  Coby was so, so cute this year decorating.  He ran up to me with every decoration he pulled out of the box and said "Mom! Remember this!"  I remembered.  I loved hearing that over and over from him.  So sweet.

New Christmas jammies :)

Coby scoured the two dozen toy catalogues that came in the mail in November.
He wanted most things in every magazine ;)

Two handsome boys :)
A sad day for Pearl. She was SO excited about her class field trip to the Museum of Art and Science.  The day prior to the field trip she said "Tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life!"   Well, she ended up throwing up all night and missing her field trip.  She was devastated :(

When she was feeling a little better I helped her jewel this crown that she got for her birthday.

Last soccer game of the season!  Pearl didn't end up scoring a goal this season but she assisted in several and tried really hard.  It was a good experience for her.

Helping prepare Sunday dinner.
My favorite quote of the day was from Pearl:
"Mommy, if you know how to cook this good, why do we ever go to restaurants?"

Basketball season begins!  This was Coby's first team sport experience.
He sure was excited about it, and nervous too.

We arrived a little early so KC was shooting with them before practice began.

Baby shower for 2 neighbors at my house.  That morning I got up early to get everything ready before sending the kids to school.  I was just about to wake up Pearl and Coby when I heard the sound of throw up splatting.  Coby had thrown up from the top bunk bed and it was splattered all over the bunkbed stairs. :s  I cleaned everything up, got Pearl off to school and proceeded with the shower with Coby quarantined to the guest room.  It was not a fun morning.  These November stomach bugs sure had bad timing this month!

 Santa at the mall!

KC and Pearl like to stay up late reading Curious George :)

Utah bound!!
As we flew from Mcallen, to Dallas, to Phoenix, to SLC,
Coby got a lot of comments on his spiky backpack, much to his delight.

Pearl, on the other hand, was having more back luck.  Our plane left at 9:00 in the morning.  She had awaken in the night with a croup cough and a really sore throat.  She hardly spoke the entire day of traveling and only ate ice.  We landed and took her directly to an instacare to rule out strep and then went to a hotel, hoping not to pass the virus to young cousins.

The doctor gave her some steroids and this mask.  The medicine helped her breath better at night but she felt miserable for the first several days of our trip.  Too bad!

Touring the Conference Center in downtown SLC.

 Reindeer in the mall!

I turned Coby and a feeling-some-better Pearl over to my dad for the weekend and went to Time Out for Women with my sisters and mom.  Great speakers and entertainment!

Pearl and Coby were SO hoping to see snow while we were in Utah and they got their wish!
It  really snowed!!

I was also able to meet up with some of my best friends from Price. We had a nice 4-hour chat over dinner and then parted ways again, at least for another year or more.

Visiting Granny in her apartment in Price, and more fun in the snow!

Shopping for turkeys to donate to the food bank.

Fun with family.

Family birthday party for 3 November birthdays :)

No trip to Price is complete without a visit to the Dinosaur Museum.

Coby is always excited to see Papa's moose.

Helping Uncle Preston hang a chandelier and holding Baby Roz for the first time. :)

Everyone loved Bethani's Christmas pajamas :):)

Thanksgiving Day at Gram and Papa's house :)

Surprise! Merry Christmas KC!  The Ace is back!

Snowball fight in the park.

Both kids asleep like this on the way to the airport:  proof that they thoroughly enjoyed our Utah trip :)
