April 2014

Cowboy Day at Lynn Flower's Preschool

The played games, ate, then danced around a fire.

The Langford's came to visit!

The carnival was in town!

Making Daddy a birthday cake and the top of the light house on Port Isabel.

We headed to South Padre Island for conference weekend.

Camo cousins and the view from our condo.

Coby made KC a treasure map for his birthday.
We followed the map and found the X and buried treasure!

Clayton's first trip to the beach. :)

Relaxing and listening to general conference.

A stomach flu bug hit us (that we likely picked up from the carnival).
Only a few were able to eat birthday cake :s

The rest of the weekend was pretty miserable :s

By Monday everyone was feeling well again, so we had some fun before the Langfords flew home.
It was a beautiful morning at the National Butterfly Center.

TONS of butterflies that day!  Lots of caterpillers too.
We even saw a chrysalis.  Feeding the turtle is always a hit.

We have loved our pool so far.  We try to use it daily.

Egg hunt with Coby and friends.  We love the Mexican "cascarrones" (confetti eggs).

Our exercise room is almost finished!!

Coby feeding our neighbor's dog.  He LOVED caring for this dog...maybe I should get him one?? :s

An evening at Shimotsu Elementary.

I'm am on the stake girls camp committee.  Pearl, Coby and their friend Michael ran wild during camp certification.  :s  They said it was the best night ever.  I always wonder why kids love playing at the church so much?  Coby always begs me to go help clean the church on Saturdays :s

Pearl's kindergarten egg hunt.

The ward egg hunt.  Lots of kids and lots of eggs!  We put numbers 1-3 in three of the 500 hidden eggs.  Those who got an egg with a number got a prize.  3rd prize was a huge chocolate bunny.  The night before the egg hunt the prizes were at our house.  Pearl wanted to win that bunny so badly.  She said "I can't even imagine what I would do with my own giant chocolate bunny!"

Opening their gathered eggs.  Pearl's hands trembled as she unfolded a paper in one of her eggs.
Then she started screaming "Mommy! Mommy! Its a 3! Its a 3!"

Here she is with her prized bunny.  She shared it, but only in small pieces.  So cute :) :)
She LOVED Easter this year and was so excited.  She says Easter is her favorite holiday.

Planting flowers

Carrots and water for the bunny.

Easter morning.

Below the tables are set for Easter dinner.  We had a big group of missionaries and friends for dinner and an Easter message (of course I forgot to take more pictures).   This is the best Easter that I can remember.  A peaceful day with a heart full of love and gratitude.

Planting a garden.

Grandma and Grandpa came just for the weekend.
Grandpa met with KC and some coworkers about financial planning.

He got in a good silly string fight with the kids too...

We tried a sleepover in the loft of the workout house.  We made the mistake of telling ghost stories to get the night started.  Grandpa's story about the beating heart that someone left in the workout room was too much...nobody dared sleep out there. :s
