April 2013

Coby loves string, rope, ribbon, crepe paper, anything he can make knots in and wrap around things.  I found him outside with the yellow crepe paper and in the kitchen with his safety glasses, taping ribbon to a chair.

He also loves hitches.  He likes me to take a picture when we find a triple hitch in the parking lot.

Pearl reading a book in the back yard.  The spring weather has been mild in McAllen this year!!  Lots of mild warm temperatures and even some rainy days.  It has only hit 100 twice this year I think.

KC turns 34!  We had a "surprise" party for him at South Padre Island.  We watched General Conference and went to the beach and the pool in between sessions.  Was nice and relaxing.  Pearl made several pictures to decorate the walls of the hotel room.

During the priesthood session, I took Pearl and Coby golfing and riding race cars.  We love South Padre Island...looking forward to many beach trips this summer.

Coby rigged up his own camping trailer.  I am so impressed with this car they got for Christmas...it actually pulled Pearl in the basket.  It has taken some rough play and still runs great.

Once I went to check on Pearl in her room and this was what she was doing. :)
And Pearly dressed like a mailman at their favorite toy store, Lakeshore.

I tried to capture the scowl and pointing finger Pearl makes when she is mad...she was half smiling though since I had the camera.

The four of us flew to El Paso for one last round of invitro.  Pearl and Coby wanted to sit by themselves.  They proudly read the airplane safety instructions and ordered their own drinks.  Pearl was excited to see El Paso, where she was born.

We had planned to read books and watch movies with the kids in the hotel room while I was on bed rest for two days.  Pearl and Coby ended up being bored with that quickly though and I got more "rest" when KC took them out.  They went to the zoo, the children's museum, and the outlet mall.  Pearl was really excited to see an elephant for the first time (the zoo near McAllen doesn't have elephants).  I'll have to get that picture from KC's phone and post it.

Meanwhile back at the hotel, I ordered room service...many times.  I worked on scrapbooks, read books, and relaxed.  It wasn't half bad ;)

We left El Paso after three days and headed home.  I wish I could say it was a successful trip.  Ten days after the trip, I did my lab work and found out that the invitro did not work :(

Ice skating in McAllen with some friends.  These penguins are awesome!!  They skated totally on their own for 1 1/2 hours!  Much more successful than our family ice skating trip in San Antonio with no penguins ;)

Cowboy day at Pearl's school.  Coby not so patiently waiting for the program to start.

Pearl's partner in the cowboy dances was Ty.  She is a full head taller than him.  Ty goes to our same church, but to a different ward.  Pearl says sometimes they sing primary songs on the playground :)
