I'm back to the blogging world after several months :s I blame my slacking on one month of horrible pregnancy nausea, followed by the holidays, as well as time spent transferring photos from our dying desktop (that we've had since the first year of medical school) to KC's new laptop.
Ten days after the embryo transfer we found out that I was expecting!! We decided to tell Pearl and Coby, as they knew about all of the doctor's appts and trips to El Paso that I was making "trying to get a baby in my tummy." They were pretty excited but a little confused as well...they thought my tummy should be bigger. I felt horribly sick for one month. KC and I went to my 6 week appt and saw one healthy heartbeat. The doctor was concerned about what looked like blood surrounding the placenta. A few weeks later (the first part of November) I went to an appt with a different OB doctor and the baby didn't have a heartbeat. :( This doctor said that, instead of blood, it looked like a second placenta was growing next the one with the baby. (We had transferred two embryos so maybe one grew for a day or two??) Because of all the medication I was on, I had no symptoms of a miscarriage. No bleeding and I still felt very nauseous. The doctor couldn't tell me the cause of the miscarriage but I think the second placenta or blood (whichever it was) interfered with the growing baby. It must not have been Heavenly Father's will for us to have another baby at that time. We were so disappointed :( but thankful to have two healthy, beautiful children already.
In October, a carnival came to town. We went several times to please the above 3-yr-old who begged every day to go. :) What's not to like about corn dogs at a carnival?
And winning cheap stuffed animals? (Pearl has slept with "flipper" every night since.)
And cotton candy??
And of course, the rides? Fun times :)
A field trip with Pearl's preschool to the pumpkin patch. Pearl is one of three girls in her class of fifteen. She loves Corrie and Molina.
We watched most of the presidential debates in October, cheering for Mitt Romney. Pearl made dozens of signs like the one above. She was planning on mailing them out to encourage people to vote for Mitt. :) She should have! Maybe he would have won :(
Another field trip with Pearl's preschool. This one to the fire station.
A cute October dessert idea that I found online:
Pearly before a soccer game. Remember my September post about Pearl scoring a goal? Well it was her only goal of the season. She was really excited and tried hard the first two weeks...the other 8 weeks, not so much. We drug her to her Saturday games anyway where she ran around the field, oblivious to the game being played. Once the ball hit her feet and stopped. She looked down at it and then walked away. Maybe she isn't ready for sports yet after all. :s Coby wore his fire hat to the game.
5 scary ghosts!
My sister Shilo, her husband Kyle and girls Caroline (3) and Aubrey (1) game for a visit the last week of October. Their first time to McAllen. :)
Feeding a giant sea turtle romaine lettuce at a sea turtle rescue and rehab on the island.
Happy Halloween!! A very warm night for trick or treating. In fact we were a little hot.
Caroline didn't want her dad to take the Mickey face off of her pumpkin. When he carved the eyes and the nose she started to cry :) So we just left it like this.

Yay, for getting back into the blogging world! Although, you have a perfectly good excuse for taking a break!
ReplyDeleteI still need to join you. I've got several posts that keep building!
Looks like the past few months were FUN filled!
Glad Shilo came out for a visit!
Again, I am sad things didn't work the way we all hoped. But, it will when it's right!
LOVE you! XOXOX
