April 2012

April was a wonderful family-filled month,
which is not common for us!!
KC's parents and sister Bethani flew in from Utah and KC's sister
Brittani and her daughter Camden (age 2) flew in from Milwaukee to spend the week with us.

Pearl loved Cam and followed her all around giving her hugs.
Cam was a really good sport about it too ;)

Many birthdays that week.  First was Brittani's...

Then KC's...

His parents and siblings got him a laptop
(that he had been wanting for several years) for his birthday!!
SO nice!!

And Bethani's birthday was the day after they went home.  

KC's family was here for General Conference (where the prophets of our church speak on TV).  We enjoyed listening to their messages together. Some really good talks!! 

Pearl, Cam and Coby had fun running through the sprinklers with Aunt Beth...

and snuggling up to her watching a movie. :)

We made two trips to the beach that week.

One of the days we took a dolphin cruise boat.

They dropped a net and pulled up some starfish and other fish for everyone to see...and hold!

Cam enjoyed the beach!!

We went to a Rio Grande Vipers basketball game (the D-League team to the Houston Rockets).

We colored some Easter eggs and did a little egg hunt.

The cousins had a great week!!  It was SO great to have company!! 

Everyone flew home the day before Easter.    

We had a few friends from church over for Easter dinner,
a egg hunt in the back yard, and a little Easter devotional.  

We learned a new Mexican tradition: cascarones.  They are confetti-filled eggs that you find and then crack on someone's head.  KC seemed to receive the brunt of the egg cracking for some reason. :)

We had our first annual Mays Girls reunion this April!  The reunion is for grandma, moms, and nursing babies only :)  We met in St George, Utah, Thursday through Sunday. We went swimming, out to eat, had a fun little photo shoot (our scanner isn't working so I can't scan in the pictures from that), went to the St. George temple, played games, and of course, talked, and talked, and talked. :)

Meanwhile, KC held down the fort at home with Pearl and Coby, whom he affectionately calls, "the ninos." They bought a fire pit and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows (Pearl ate so much that she threw up :s), camped out in a tent in the backyard, went to the beach and the waterpark, and went out for pizza and ice cream.  The first few days I was back and KC was at work, they asked me all day when Daddy would be home.  He is much more entertaining than I am :)
