Pearl dressing up, playing "fancy restaurant."
Playing Mariachi band at the dinner table.
Of course they soaked themselves cleaning the tub and shower and had to take their wet pj's off. You will notice above that Coby is wearing his "big boy underwear!!" Coby is officially a potty-trained boy!! We had tried potty-training in October but gave up after a few days. I said then that we would try again after Christmas. Sure enough, right after Christmas, Pearl and Coby made me keep my word. One morning they came to me with underwear from Coby's drawer and said "Christmas is over. Time to potty train!!" I reluctantly agreed. One of my friends here said that potty training is one of the worst motherly tasks. I have to agree :s Day 1, he did great! (He also did great on day 1 in October though, so I wasn't getting my hopes up.) Days 2, 3 and 4 got a little rough, with a low point of Coby sitting on the potty, crying, while he said "I don't love you anymore!!" My experience potty training Coby was very different than potty training Pearl. Pearl didn't like having accidents. Coby didn't seem to mind. Thus, every 2 hours, I initiated a potty break for Coby...and by day 2, he was really tired of it. We persevered though and, with a sticker chart, potty treats for everyone in the house upon success, and a celebration dance afterward, Coby is now potty trained!! Phew!
Me: "Pearly, when you grow up, you will go to college, find a nice boy to marry, be a mommy, (etc, etc)"
Pearl: "I want to marry Coby!"
Coby chimes in from the background: "Ya! I'm a nice boy!"
So they plan to marry each other. Pearl wants to take care of babies at home. Coby wants to work planting palm trees. :)
Any reason is a good reason for using my tools.
Reading "I Love Trucks." Oh, and we all enjoyed nice colds in January, as evidenced by the video. :s
What GOOD little helpers you have!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that Coby wants to be a palm tree planter when he grows up!
