January 2011

I want to start printing my blog each year and have it as a family album/journal. So, I thought I would try to recap each month with a few pictures. Above is after Coby got into my lipstick. He wasn't very remorseful. :s
The first snowfall in Lubbock!! Pearl was thrilled beyond belief when she looked out one morning and saw snow. We went out immediately and she enjoyed making footprints in the snow for quite some time. All of the snow was melted by afternoon.
Coby wasn't thrilled about the snow. "Too messy!" He said. "Need sweep!" He ran and got his broom and started sweeping the snow from the walk.
Playing "tent" with Daddy.
Mylee (our next-door neighbor) came over for a short time while her mom ran an errand. The girls helped me make a cake. Can you tell by their smiles that they made a grand mess??
I was cleaning the shower and Pearl stole my pouf and ran away with it. When I found her she had it on Baby Anna's head. She said it was her bow.
Pearl started a "Wee Sports" class at a community center. They were suppose to learn soccer, t-ball, and basketball. The first day they learned hockey. Hmmm. The class was about what you would expect for a 10-week, $30 community class. :) Maybe she will learn a little coordination at least.
I don't have any pictures of the 10 days in January that Pearl and Coby had the most horrible colds. I have never seen noses run that much. I didn't know it was possible!! Pearl ended up with an ear infection and is just finishing her antibiotics.

Kc finished his rotation in Big Springs mid January. It has been fun to get to see him every evening!! He is now on a rotation where he is operating with Dr. Good.

I have been trying to get in shape to train for a 1/2 marathon. I think I went too far too fast and strained my back a few weeks ago. It is better now so I'm back in the game. The farthest I have run has been 3 10-minute miles.

Pearl loves our piano and "plays" every day...pounding the keys and singing at the top of her lungs.

Coby loves books. KC and I have read Hop on Pop and Mr. Happy to him at least 200 times this month.

  1. I love the update!! And I think your idea to streamline blog/family album/journal into one grand thing is a great idea!!! Thinking about making our blog private and doing the same thing myself... hmmm...

Nice work with the training for the 1/2!! And I can't stop chuckling to myself about the stories about Pearl and Coby- so so cute! :D
